Why Chasing Money Is Holding You Back in Forex Trading

What Happens When You Finally Stop Trying to Get Rich From Forex?

At some point, almost every forex trader has had the same thought:

"If I can just make enough money from this, everything will change."

You look at your account and start doing the mathematics. What if you make 10% this week? What if you make 20% next week? What if that small account grows into something big over the next few months?

Then your imagination takes over.

You see the car. The house. The freedom. The ability to help your family. The life you've always wanted.

And suddenly, forex isn't just forex anymore.

It has become your way out.

That is where things can start going wrong.

When you need the market to change your financial situation, every trade begins to feel like it matters too much. A loss isn't just a loss anymore. It feels like you're falling behind. A missed setup isn't simply a missed opportunity. It feels like money you desperately needed just disappeared.

And a winning trade?

Now you want another one.

Then another.

Before long, you're no longer trading because the market has given you a good opportunity. You're trading because you need something to happen.

That's a dangerous place to trade from.

The Problem Isn't Always Your Strategy

Imagine two traders looking at the exact same setup.

Trader A thinks, "This meets my rules. I'll take the trade and accept whatever happens."

Trader B thinks, "I really need this one to work."

Same chart. Same setup. Similar entry.

The market moves against them.

Trader A takes the loss, closes the position and moves on.

Trader B starts negotiating with the market.

"Maybe it will reverse."

"Maybe I should move my stop."

"Maybe I should add another position."

"I'll make it back on the next trade."

One trade becomes three. Three become five. And suddenly, the strategy that brought them into the market has disappeared.

Emotion has taken over.

The interesting part is that the market didn't change.

What changed was what each trader needed the trade to do for them.

Then Something Finally Clicks

Eventually, many traders reach a point where they get tired.

Tired of chasing.

Tired of forcing trades.

Tired of winning today and giving it all back tomorrow.

Tired of watching their account balance control their mood.

And one day, they stop asking:

"How much can I make today?"

They start asking:

"Did I make a good trading decision?"

That question can change everything.

You no longer need every trade to win. You don't need to trade every day. You don't need to recover a loss immediately. You don't need to catch every move.

You simply need to execute your plan properly.

And strangely enough, that is when the market starts looking different.

You Begin Seeing Trades You Shouldn't Take

When you're desperate to make money, everything looks like an opportunity.

Gold moves a little? Trade.

EURUSD breaks a level? Trade.

The market pulls back? Trade.

You start seeing setups everywhere because you're looking for a reason to enter.

But when the pressure disappears, your eyes become sharper.

You start recognizing messy conditions.

You notice when FOMO is creeping in.

You catch yourself before revenge trading.

You become comfortable watching a big move happen without you.

And you learn one of the hardest lessons in forex:

You don't have to trade every opportunity you see.

In fact, some of your best trading decisions may be the trades you choose not to take.

Some of Your Best Trading Days Will Have No Trades

This is something beginners often struggle to understand.

You can spend two hours analyzing the market, find nothing worth trading, close your charts and still have a successful trading day.

Why?

Because you followed your rules.

You protected your capital.

You didn't force anything.

You didn't turn boredom into a trading strategy.

Trading isn't about being busy.

It's about being selective.

Sometimes, the smartest thing you can do is sit on your hands while the market does absolutely everything without you.

That's not weakness.

That's discipline.

Stop Copying Trades. Start Understanding Them.

This is also why I believe there is a big difference between simply receiving a signal and actually learning from a trade.

A trader can be told:

BUY GOLD — ENTRY: XXXX — SL: XXXX — TP: XXXX

But what happens after that?

Do you know why the trade was taken?

Do you understand what the market was doing before the entry?

Do you know what could invalidate the setup?

Do you know why the trade worked or why it failed?

If you don't, you're not really learning the process.

You're only following instructions.

And that's exactly what I wanted to change with KojoForex Learn & Earn VIP.

When you join the VIP group, you don't just receive VIP trades. You get the explanation behind the setup, the thinking behind the entry and the context surrounding the opportunity.

You get to see the before and after.

Most times, you'll also be notified ahead of time when a setup is developing, giving you the chance to understand what I'm watching before the trade is dropped.

And it doesn't end when the trade closes.

Every week, we hold sessions to review the previous week's trades. We look at the winners, the losers, the decisions, the mistakes and, most importantly, the lessons.

Because sometimes, the trade that loses you money can teach you more than the trade that makes you money.

That's the idea behind Learn & Earn.

Not blind copying.

Not chasing entries.

Learning from real market opportunities while developing your own understanding.

The Money Starts Losing Its Power Over You

You don't suddenly stop wanting to make money.

You still want the profits.

You still want financial freedom.

But money stops controlling your decisions.

You can take a trade without desperately needing it to win.

You can accept a loss without feeling like you've failed.

You can make a profit without immediately jumping into another position.

Your account balance becomes information instead of emotion.

And that is a massive shift.

Because sometimes, wanting money too badly is exactly what makes it harder to trade properly.

Maybe You Don't Need Another Strategy

Think about how many strategies you've already seen.

Indicators.

Market structure.

Scalping systems.

Breakout strategies.

Moving averages.

Smart money concepts.

Another YouTube video.

Another Telegram group.

Another "holy grail."

At some point, you have to ask yourself:

"Do I really need another strategy, or do I need to become better at executing what I already know?"

Maybe what you're missing isn't another indicator.

Maybe it's patience.

Maybe it's discipline.

Maybe it's understanding why a setup exists instead of simply knowing where to enter.

Because a trader who understands the market can adapt.

A trader who only memorises signals can easily become lost when conditions change.

Give Yourself Time

What if you stopped asking:

"How quickly can I make $10,000?"

And started asking:

"How good can I become over the next two years?"

Two years of studying.

Two years of journaling.

Two years of practising.

Two years of learning risk management.

Two years of making mistakes and understanding them.

Two years of becoming more disciplined.

Two years of refining your execution.

Imagine the trader you could become.

That's the part many people overlook.

Trading is a skill before it becomes an income.

You wouldn't expect to become a professional footballer after watching football for three months.

You wouldn't expect to become a doctor after reading a few books.

So why expect yourself to master the financial markets overnight?

Give yourself time.

Stop Trying to Prove Yourself to the Market

You don't have to make money every day.

You don't have to win every trade.

You don't have to recover every loss immediately.

You don't have to catch every major move.

And you don't have to become rich this month.

The market doesn't know your financial goals.

It doesn't know the car you want.

It doesn't know the bills waiting for you.

It doesn't care about your deadline.

It simply moves.

Your job is to decide when the opportunity is good enough to risk your money.

That's it.

So, What Happens When You Finally Stop Trying to Get Rich From Forex?

You breathe.

You stop chasing.

You stop forcing trades.

You stop treating every loss like an emergency.

You stop believing the next trade has to save you.

You become patient enough to wait.

Disciplined enough to walk away.

Confident enough to accept a loss.

And humble enough to keep learning.

You finally understand that your job isn't to squeeze money out of every candle.

Your job is to become good enough to recognise the opportunities that actually matter.

And that's when forex starts to feel different.

The charts become clearer.

Your decisions become calmer.

The pressure begins to disappear.

You are no longer desperately trying to become rich.

You're becoming a trader.

And maybe that's the moment your entire journey begins to change.
